Michelin Recognizes 19 Wine Country Restaurants With 2015 Bib Gourmand Status

Michelin-ManMichelin has awarded 19 Wine Country restaurants Bib Gourmand status for 2015. Bib Gourmand restaurants, according to Michelin, offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less (tax and gratuity not included). The restaurants recognized with this distinction are Michelin “Inspectors’ Favorites for good value” and are typically establishments frequented by locals.

If you’re wondering what “Bib Gourmand” means, Bib is short for Bibendum, the tire company’s logo commonly known as “the Michelin Man,” image left. A “Gourmand,” of course, is a connoisseur of good food.

This year’s list of Bib Gourmand restaurants is similar to last year’s, with two restaurants leaving the list and two restaurants being added. The departing restaurants are Boon Eat + Drink in Guerneville (Sonoma County) and Cucina Paradiso in Petaluma (also Sonoma County). Additions to the list are The Farmer & The Fox in St. Helena (Napa Valley) and Grace’s Table in the town of Napa (also Napa Valley). Here’s the list of Wine Country restaurants recognized by Michelin with the Bib Gourmand distinction for 2015.
